I do not know if everybody is aware of the historic ill-fated concert at Red Rocks in Colorado in 1971. There was a riot, largely escalated by local police. After the show the Maryor of Denver stated that a rock concert would never be held at Red Rocks again. This ban lasted five years, but Tull was never to play there again.
Just recently announced, for the 40th aniversary of Jethr Tull, they will playing at Red Rocks in August!! I just got my tickets and I am so excited that they will be playing at historic Red Rocks.
If you don't know about this venue, give it a google and check it out. If you can travel to see Tull in August, don't miss this opportunity to have a wonder-Tull time.
See you there!

lol Funny thing is I'm listening to my very first Dead show which was at Red Rocks 1983-09-08
The first time I ever saw The Grateful Dead was at this awesome venue. Wish I could go in August to see Tull.

Though I been listening to Tull since I was 12 I didn't get to actually see them till 87. Me and some friends were on Dead tour and jumped off after Madison Square's 4 day show in Sept of that year. A bunch of us ended up at a communal house in Ithaca, NY for a few months. This cute Mama had a crush on me and bought tickets to Tull. She didn't have to twist my arm to get me to go with her. We end up staying together for a few years. We is still friends and she always remains in my Heart as the one who took me (FINALLY) to my first live Tull show. I can't remember who it was that opened for them. I think it was Fairport Convention but can't remember as I wasn't into them yet.
I'm a Tull fanatic and would occasionally jump off Dead Tour to go see Tull (Me and Maia) but the scene around Tull was too conservative for me so I never did a actual Tull Tour. Wish I had.
