Pretty sleepy here. I'm getting back into Jethro Tull after a few years. I was a BIG fan in the late 60's and early 70's. One of the great concerts I went to was in Seattle when Yes opened for Tull. After Yes (I had never heard them before that concert), I thought, "How can Anderson and company top that?" It was the Aqualung tour, and Tull kicked butt!

Re: Wake up, Tull Fanatics!
Mon, February 21, 2005 - 1:39 AMThe only time I saw them was at Jones Beach on the Roots to Branches tour. Great venue on a great summer night, but they were far from amazing. I can't get over how stupendous their recordings are, though. Aqualung is a masterpiece. And Thick as a Brick is quintessentially a desert island item. -

Re: Wake up, Tull Fanatics!
Tue, September 20, 2005 - 5:29 PM(yawn...stretch...)...My best gal loves Ian and co., yet is decidedly acoustic-concert oriented. We just saw Dead Can Dance (as a..er..warmup for JT..) at Seattle Paramount-where I could reliably be found Sat. nights '76-84ish..She was afeared of the claustraphobia that can sometimes set in when 2800 are stacked vertically. Hoping Ian's humor and ability to simultaneously relax and engage folks will transfer at McCaw... or we'll just go on tour!! Thanks for keeping the light alive

Re: Wake up, Tull Fanatics!
Wed, September 21, 2005 - 7:20 AMI was introduced to Tull in the 80's with Broadsword and the Beast. First concert when I was probably 12-13 and I think it was Rock Island. I'm in love with the more folky Tull, albums like Heavy Horses, Warchild or Songs from the Wood. I haven't loved some of the new stuff, but they'll be in concert here in Nov and I know I'll be there anyway.

Re: Wake up, Tull Fanatics!
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 1:24 AMI saw Tull whilst on holiday in New Zealand in 1994. Apparently the show was sponsored by a coalition of biker clubs.
I thought they were just doing security at first, and that's why they wouldn't let anyone near the front. But the whole auditorium was bursting at the seams with bikers and I eventually figured that they must have been concert patrons after all!
I couldn't see the stage but the sound was good. Ian's voice however was very strained. I wondered at the time if he had laryngitis.
