Hello All,
My vote is for Martin. He is one of the most inventive players I have ever heard. A quiet, self-effacing man, whose presence, on both album and on stage, is simply awesome.
If anyone is interested, please do check a small appreciation on Martin on my blog, aquaminerale.blogspot.com
I shall try and add this blog to mine, so that fans can come here. That is, if it is okay with you guys.
Cheers,
Nandu

Thu, December 7, 2006 - 5:18 PMHm... Glenn Cornick, most likely. Whenever I see old videos of him, it just gives me shivers. Hard to explain. Ian and Martin are tied for second, I suppose, but that's just kind of a given.
First post here, just joined. Neat place.

Sat, February 9, 2008 - 11:07 AMJust to resurrect this thread (and the tribe).. my favourite was John Glascock.. easily Tull's best bass player, and sadly very underrated. -

Re: Favourite Tull band member
Tue, March 4, 2008 - 12:24 AMJohn Glascock was definitely a great bass player, and I shouldn't have forgottenhim in my list of faves. I was at one of the last concerts he played in for Tull, 1979. I just recently learned that, despite their friendship, Ian was never particularly happy with Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond's level of playing, and Jeffrey apparently didn't put enough into it for Ian. So, when Glascock came on board, Ianwas very happy with how he could play. It's a shame (beyond the fact that he died so young) that he wasn't able to play with them for any length of time. We might have seen a very different and more interesting Tull in the early 80s. -

Re: Favourite Tull band member
Sat, March 29, 2008 - 1:20 AMHi there,
I also saw a Tull show with him in 1977. He was incredible!
Yes indeed, had he lived, Ian also may not have made those drastic changes in the lineup like he did in 1980. For me, it was the end of the Tull I knew and loved.
